DENTAL CARE

Although dogs and cats aren’t worried about having a perfect smile with straight teeth and pearly whites, their dental health is just as important to their overall health, as it is for humans. During your annual visit, our veterinarians will do a thorough dental check to ensure your pet’s teeth are in good condition. Routine exams can help catch potential issues such as tooth decay, tartar build up, loose or retained teeth, and red or inflamed gums. These issues are more common, particularly as pets age, and neglecting dental care can lead to problems with eating, bad breath, or other serious health complications.

To keep your pet’s teeth healthy, we recommend annual check ups, and as pets hit 2 to 3 years old, the veterinarian may recommend starting annual teeth cleanings. At Animal Care Clinic, we offer dental cleanings under sedation, and tooth extraction when needed.
