Dr. Hegi is a native West Texan, and grew up in Petersburg, TX. He attended Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1978. He practiced in Texas City for four years before coming back to Lubbock in 1982. After working at another clinic for a few years, he decided to open Animal Care Clinic in December of 1984. Dr. Hegi is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and the South Plains Veterinary Medical Association (SPVMA). He has spent the last 40 years serving the community of Lubbock, while raising his three kids with his wife, Karen. Now, in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his four grandsons, and working on his roses.
